I must be missing something, but my armies aren't assaulting cities. I'm playing the full campaign as the Prussians and my armies are activated. I put them onto assualt mode (red button) but they don't assault. My main armies have been sitting around Prague for two turns and I have armies in the East (Austrian town of Konigsegg or somesuch) that they have been sieging for around 6 turns. Winter has fallen and my armies just will not assault. At the start of the next turn they are on Attack mode (Orange setting) rather than the red. The Austrians don't seem to have the same problem, with a smallish force assaulting a couple of towns in Saxony.
What am I missing? I have played AGEOD games since Birth of America and when I want them to assault, they assault. Is it a bug or a game mechanism thingy going on?

Do you have the required number od breaches?? You need as many as the level of fort in a province in order to assault it (so 3 in case of prague).

I had played around with the stances too (again orange and red buttons) just in case. But yes, I think it is I don't have enough breeches.

3 Breaches in Prag fortress, assault mode on, Fridrich in command and active, siege arttilery present, force more than 10 times stronger... and no assault, just 4th breach

Another problem from the same game (PBEM) from the Austrian side.
In early Dec the Saxons were in Kloesterle and 12 days march from Karlsbad (adjacent region along the road) and shelter. However, the next turn they did not arrive in Karlsbad, they arrived in Aue even though their march did not take them through that region and the pass was blocked by snow. So there they sit losing supply and taking damage and to get to Karlsbad will take them 32 days and they must first go through Kloesterle which was where they started.

Thanks, that was the issue. Any reason why it is suppose to be this way or it is just a bug?

Armies are supposed to be command support formations while corps do the actual fighting. The AGE engine is moving away from allowing armies to fight battles willingly though there are some armies where it's pretty tough to find decent corp commanders who can command large corps.
