Mixing nationalities and artillery

I have three questions regarding RoP:

1) According to the discription of the multinational commander trait, there is a malus if units of a different nationality are commanded by a leader who doesn't have the trait. How big is this malus?

2) This one is going to sound dumb: Does siege artillery participate in field batlles or just in the defense of/assault on forts and cities?

3) Is there a limit to the number of artillery in a stack that can participate in a battle (with obvious consequences for stack composition)? I am aware that depending on the terrain the frontage becomes smaller (meaning fewer units can engage in a battle). Looking at the battle reports, however, I usually get the feeling that most of my guns did engage.

to 2)Sofar I understand it could be possible that siege artillery take part in a battle from a fortified position as historically may happened...

to 3)for myself I imagine that artillery is often used from hill positions as battery groups from behind like in many historical battles of the SYW so that frontage doesn't always matters...

But thats only my simple opinion...

Not as far as I can tell - send a Russian general to command Swedes (the ancestral enemy) and there doesn't seem to be any penalty.

In Rus game with latest patch it is now not possible to command different nationality troops in brigade level with different nationality * star leaders. AFAIK in ROP there are some factions such as Hannover & Prussian soldiers that are most likely be ok about command but as for others that they didn't corporate historically, can it be implemented in ROP also like in Rus with command penalty? . And in some way is it possible for age engine to have *** leaders have that penalty also with different faction brigades?

Yes, but frontage is pretty high in plain (with much of Europe is) and in Plains and Woods the Strategy rating of the leader of the stack adds an awful lot of frontage, so in any clear terrain with a good leader there is effectively no limit.

I always figured the reason the multinational trait was in the game was because, logically so, in my opinion, there would be some command type penalty/effectiveness type penalty when a leader from one nation was leading the troops of another nation.

It could be as easy as saying they don't speak each other's language.
