Why is Emden neutral?

It's Prussian-controlled, and even provides the Prussian treasury with $2, but the area is neutral and out-of-bounds so Austria can't ever take it - hardly seems fair.

Besides, Emden was the scene of some rather swashbuckling action in the 7YW - real Douglas Fairbanks and Errol Flynn stuff. I have to at least be able to send the PCs there on a suicide mission! :D

I suppose this is an old consequence of the very first DB where Emden was mistakenly given to the United Provinces (hence out of bounds). The blockstate value was not reset from 2 to 0. Will fix in next patch. Thanks

It should also be the port of disembarkation of the first British contingent, not Bremen as it is at the moment.

As of the latest patch, Emden is neutral when the British Contingent arrives. So there you have the worst of both worlds: the Contingent arrives there, but is stuck because Emden "is blocked for this scenario".

For next version:

  • Emden now part of Oldenburg Area, not Nederland
  • Emden starts 1756 unblocked
Already in: 1st Contingent has 60% chance to land at Emden, 20% at Bremen, 20% at Stadt, but the region select list is pruned for Enemy adjacency...

Edit: Oldenburg Area, not Bremen Area.
Look at the map, Lodi :bonk:
