Wed Nov 18, 2009 11:53 am

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knows any info or websites that has info on the rise of prussia in the 1600, or 1700s. I need to know about various leaders, military, and economic advances, the unity of german princes.

In English:

A good starting point is Gordon A. Craig, The Politics of the Prussian Army, 1645-1945 - the book was published 50 years ago, but as an examination of the "army which has a state" it's hard to beat.

Peter H. Wilson, The Holy Roman Empire 1495-1806 is a good overview with an up-to-date bibliography which will lead you to more specific reading.
