Help in updating Steam version of PON

First post! I have been trying to wrap my mind around this game for over two months. I even bought Alea Jacta Est to help me better understand the AGEOD game mechanics so that I could apply what I learned in PON. I’m now at an age where enjoying the journey is just as important as the destination, and the hope is, based on the enthusiastic support of some forum members, that this effort on my part is worth my limited leisure time. I need this game in my life, but I can tell that this is going to be a rough relationship and I’m going to need some counselling.

Now, I have the Steam version of the game which I know does not have the latest updates. I downloaded the last patch into the steam game folder but that does not seem to work. There must be an extra step that I’m missing (I did unzip the folder and placed it in the correct path). What do I need to do to correctly patch my version of the game? Please keep it simple because I’m not the most savvy or literate in computer lingo.

Problem solved.

The patch created an extra folder called "Prides of Nations" that downloaded into the Steam game folder but did not modify the actual game. By deleting the extra \Pride of Nations in the patch address for the game folder it properly modified the files of the game. Not having any experience with this I did not catch this problem, but thanks to a comment made in a Youtube video for a different Ageod game I was able to update PON.

Or place the full PON folder from the Steam game folder to somewhere else, and copy the patch into that.
