Games similar to PON

I know there is only one PON, but are there any games out there which are similar and which I might find similarly interesting?

Victoria 2 by Paradox is similar, but you'll probably find it a bit disappointing after the historical depth of PON.

That being said, it's much more polished and many more nations are in a more playable state. But don't expect it to hew close to history.

PoN is original ... all other games are realtime or with another scope/historical depth etc.
Only one I could recommend is Making History: The Great War ... it is turn based, but short period and less historical

There are no other games like PON.It is in class of its own.

Victoria 2 is probably the closest, bur it is so abstract and dull compared to PON that I cannot stand to play it anymore.

The original Victoria was truer to history than Victoria 2, bit also could not compare to PON.

If you like the time period PoN covers, you might like the old SSI game "Age of Rifles" if tactical battles is your thing too.
