Well mine is 1.03e full, that's the one that came with the Scramble for Africa, so I don't really know what's up with the steam version as I didn't buy my copy from steam. How is "the result strange"?

When will we get a comprehensive patch 1.4?

I have the impulse version of the game which is on 1.1! Maybe you should send these guys the patches as well.

Cheers

We'll need a little more information Anguille. Perhaps you can upload your logs here so they can be looked at. Also, it would help if you loaded the last turn before the crash.

It crashes while loading the game. I reinstalled the previous patch and it works. It's just 1.03d i have a problem with...hoping for a 1.04 patch at some point.

That's odd. I have not patched it in a while myself, so am unable to offer assistance.

Have you tried installing 1.03e? e is a the full game plus patch where as d is patch material only. If your previous install was broken and you only installed d you probably didn't fix the code that was broken. I would attach the file but it is too big and I'm not allowed to.

Thanks..working now. Still hoping for 1.04 now that the game is on steam again.

Since 1.04 RC2 has these bugs (speaking of the invincible garrisons to mention one) I wouldn't want it to update!
Just keep the latest 1.03 is not fine but better!

I updated to 1.04RC2 but the game crashed after 1 turn as Russia so I tried to roll back to 1.03. However I'm not sure if the 1.03 patch I applied is the latest one - it only shows '1.03' on the splash screen, not 1.03e. Where is the latest 1.03e patch? Pocus' link in the OP of this thread is dead.

Great to know this is still being updated. I have a bit of a love/hate relationship with the game. Because as frustrating as it can be, I've never uninstalled it and whenever I read something about the 19th century, my first thought is how is that modelled in PoN and I always keep coming back to it.

Keep up the good work!

I think you're more than busy Pocus, but when lag problem - preventing play at all for me - will be solved, tell me, i'll test it again
(till then, I'll stick to 1.03e whatever, just can't play a normal game with 1.04 T B F4 F11 lag, is worse than the 15 minutes interturn)
[color="#FF0000"]- (ordnance) Your Lordship, sorry to awake you, but The french are at our door !

- Alarm, alarm, how did you let this happen and not awake me ! repel them, counterattack at once !

- err, your Lordship, ahem... French are our allies, Marshal de St Arnaud is expected to attend to a conference with you !

- ahem, well, .... very well ..let them in !

I think it would be great if they release a 1.04 beta patch wihtout the issue of the inmortal garrison, since Im only able to play 1.04 because of save game corruption with 1.03. (solved in 1.04)

Moreover its an already (inmortal garrison) solved bug, so please please ! I will keep an eye on that thread just in case Pocus or another dev push the patch forward.

It seems like the wair for a desperately needed patch is endless. No doubt Pocus is very busy, but I hope he will somehow find the time to do this. This fine game deserves support!

Yes, I think a new patch is desperately needed, specially for those who play through steam and have their games automatically updated to 1.04 that is bugged. I don't suffer from this, because I play the 1.03e, so I don't have problems as I don't play on steam.

As for a possible update, we are still trying to find time and a developer at Ageod to provide you with a quickfix asap, containing the immortal garrison fix. Sorry for the big delay gents...

Please do not forget to include a fix for the F4, F11 lag, which can exceed 15 minutes, and makes the game impossible to play, for me and others. This really should be included in the hotfix. The sooner you can get this done, the happier I will be. I am actually starting to get bitter over not being able to play PON, the greatest game ever made.

Send me by mail a saved game with such lag, I'll see if I can do it this week end, if there is no quickfix before that. I can't promise much beyond the garrison bugfix and possibly this lag suppression.

I am having some problems with my system, and have been unable to get a save game to send you, though I have done it before. Perhaps someone else who as suffered from this lag, such as Christophe Barot (194 above) could send you such a save game. I am really sorry about this, and very grateful that you would try to fix it this weekend.

After EAW is released (late August), we should try our best to convince the Philippes for a Gold PON version that destroys all past bugs once and for all. Given that we know now a lot about WW1 (for EAW), we could also attempt to write a starting 1910 scenario. PON will not be as accurate as EAW in the specific conflict, but it could portray the bigger economical picture. I wonder if the blockade can be done, hehe.

That is a great idea, Kensai. I might be a good idea to contact Ian at Slitherine as well.
