Scripting to Change Colonial Status

Can anyone help me with the scripting necessary to change colonial status? I have two problem areas. One, which is that Ampihny is for some reason French Non-National territory, is causing problems with the British protectorate of Madagascar. I can't build colonial structures in the zone so I cannot bring Madagascar up to a colony, and I have also seen many attempts to build colonial structures in other Madagascan zones come to naught on the turn they are to be built, even though I was able to begin building them - I've had this happen to vaccination programs and a Colonial Society, and I'm not sure if this is because of the situation in Ampihny.

The other is Regina, is Saskatchewan. I also want to bring the region up to Colony from Protectorate (and eventually Dominion) but I can't play the colony card on Regina, and I'm assuming that this is again because it is non-national territory. It is the solitary non-national territory in the region, but it is the capital.

This can help you.

Essentially you will have to adapt the above script to the areas you need to convert. You can find the areas in the local folders, GameDate subfolder. There is a file called Areas which has them all with the correct name. I know it may sound pedantic, but I will refrain to write the script for you (unless you are completely stuck!!) because trust me, the moment you learn to write your own scripts will be the moment you will start loving the AGEOD engine for good. ;)

I've started a new game and patched upto the 1.03d.

The capital of a Russian protectorate (the one West of Khiva) has become a non-national province, the colonial buildings have been destroyed. Problem is the other provinces are all still protectorate status only.
How do I undo the damage the patch has done and return the capital back to a protectorate?
