Trade and the 'T' areas

Wed Jul 27, 2011 10:19 pm

Dear All,

I am just getting to grips with the game and starting of as Sardinia Piedmont, can anyone give me any pointers on how to produce, export, an make Private Capital?

From what I see now, I have to visit every single trade zone (under T) and specify what I want to buy and sell. Is this correct? Seems like a lot of clicking. Where is the 'sell 10 units of Wine wherever possible' button?

Also, how do I get access to new markets and why do some markets appear to not be interested in my fine Italian goods?

To buy, go to the B screen, choose what you want to buy, and left click, will add 10 per click. To undo a buy, right click, will subtract 10.
To sell, go to your home region, select the T screen, and increase, decrease from there.

To trade with additional areas, you need more merchant fleets. Each merchant fleet lets you trade in all areas adjacent to the trade area it's deployed in.

I see, many thanks, is my home region the region my capital is in? What happens after I unify Italy?

Edit: where do I get more merchant fleets?

Yes, your home region (North Italy) is where your capital is.
After re-unification, if I remember correctly, your capital moves to Rome which is in South Italy. All internal goods can be sold either from the capital region or where they are produced.
MUCH easier to just use the capital region since they all end up there.

To get more merchant fleets, you need to build them from the military menu.

And do ally with France so you don't get overrun by Austria like the AI Piedmont in my campaign. It disdained all diplomatic efforts towardsd an alliance, even when its home provinces on the mainland labored under the Imperialist yoke. S-P was only saved by keeping Sardinia and having occupied Parma, whcih the Austrians did not attack (I think because they did not want to declare war on Parma). I tried to be helpful by giving military passage into France - but the Piedmontese irregulars who came into France destroyed my railroad.
