The Part 2 file seems to have an problem. I double clicked on the exe and received a Bad Block Error. The file would not load properly. Part 1 worked with no issue.

Hmm how is that possible after all the deletions I made. Is there a way in the game to determine your version #?

Checked the recylced box all the correct files/folders were deleted. Strange.

It should read 1.01f...

The patch includes the folder VGN and the file PON.exe, perhaps you forgot PON.exe?

In his first post in this thread he comments that the version is 1.01e.

But there was a second patch in PI forum with a different link. No updated here probably because it is official support and in PI is only available for registered users

Installer version of the v1.02_2 Public Beta Patch

Wed Jun 22, 2011 1:04 am

For those whom the file/folder instruction(s) seem to be overwhelming here's an installer version that performs the steps for you. Enjoy. :)

Note: A clean install, though always recommended by me, is probably not necessary if this installer is applied directly over the previous installer patch that was posted yesterday.

Warning: This is NOT yet confirmed to work with a STEAM installed version of PON. Someone who has actually installed the game thru STEAM and is willing to take the risk will have to test it. If it doesn't work correctly, they will most likely have to uninstall thru STEAM, clean up the Steam installation folder and then reinstalled their PON all over again thru STEAM. If someone does confirm that it works flawlessly on a STEAM installation, please confirm it here with a post and I'll modify and/or remove this warning.

Since the installer file is so large, (over 100 MBytes), I had to split it into 2 sections to upload it to mediafire. You have to download both Patch_PON_v102_2PB.part1.rar AND Patch_PON_v102_2PB.part2.rar. Once you have downloaded both part1 and part2 and you have WinRAR (similar to WinZip and linked below for free download if you don't have it), you can double click on either one of the ...part .RAR files just downloaded and "extract". It will create the actual Installer executable file (i.e. Patch_PON_v102_2PB.exe) to use to patch the game. Alternately, you can just double click the name Patch_PON_v1.02_2PB.exe within EITHER (doesn't matter which one) of the opened up WinRar Boxes. It will create and run the complete Installer without having to actually "extract" it.

Note: After installation using this installer, it should read v1.01f in the lower right hand corner during startup AND in the Credits in the main menu (NOT v1.02 as the patch name and thread title implies)

G'day all, how far away is the official patch and will it have any new content? Or will the next patch be a further unofficial quick fix?
Just wondering.

No QA resource right now to officialise the work, so expect 1.01g.

I'm half clueless much of the time, but it is a very amused clueless.

I went into the options to bump up the difficulty a bit and could no longer select military units. When I changed it back, things worked normally. Is this a bug or a feature.
