I'm well into 1854 as Japan with no sign of the Black Ships. I'm new to AGEOD's event files so I'm not sure how to figure out where things are breaking.

It seems strange that the minimum time for the American Black Ship events is 1952, but the minimum time for the Japanese events is late 1953. Is it possible the USA AI is doing something between the start of the American events and the start of the Japanese events that is breaking the event chain?

Can anyone tell me how to manually trigger events in the game (a console code or something, I'm hoping) so I can figure it out?

Open the console; then type

ForceEvent evt_nam_JAP_BlackShipsEdo1853

Enter, close the console

Event should occur in the next hosting. Date is officially 1853/08/07

I tried that previously and it didn't work, but there's a possibility the problem there is on my end (I edited the japan events file to fix the broken earthquake event; during editing I may have corrupted the file on save because I was in Japanese language mode). I will reinstall the game and change my language mode and retrace my steps with an old save. Thank you!
