Support Question - Game crashes every several turns

Thu Jan 31, 2013 7:14 pm

I'm playing as Japan in 1.03. I've been having the experience where the game crashes every few turns. I've tried clean installs to no avail. I've also posted this problem on the Paradox forums, and they suggested to come here. The Main Log is attached. Someone mentioned that the log showed a problem with the ottoman ruler and something else earlier. If this is still the problem, or if the problem is different I would love a heads up, and if anyone knows a way to fix the problem, that would just be awesome.

Thanks everyone for the support. These are truly great forums.

Hello, and welcome to the forums.

It may have been me that sent you over. This appears to be a different log from the original I looked at in the Paradox forum. It shows that there is an error with the AI processes (near the end of the file).

Aye, it was you who sent me over. And that at least tells me its not the same issue every time it crashes. That is both refreshing and problematic. My next move is to fire up my old prussia game and see if I have the same problems. Maybe its Japan specific?

You get a list of warning in the log about some data files that are not right. Then in the end of the log, you get a totally different issue with the game unable to write a save file.

I also see that your install path is Steam, so probably your installation is corrupted. Try de-installing the game then installing it again (but keep your saved games aside!). If this is a trouble, I can also provide you with a non-Steam installer.
