Ok, stupid me. I did put the old WW1.exe file into the patch. So I guess that's why you still experience crashes...
Patch is now updated with the correct game executable. Download links are the same as usual, you can find everything in the top thread post.
So let me know if this new game exe works fine, thanks. :love:

Well, it looked very promising without an early crash, but then it did crash after pushing the button "go to next battle" during military phase execution...

As worked with poweraxe, set sounds off in WW1 Configurator tool. That seems the new version of irrKlang is much less stable with WW1. :non: I'll work on some troubleshooting during next days.

Latest update of patch just crashed after pushing 'Go to Next Battle' in military phase of August 1914. I had sounds 'off'.

Latest patch and a new GC: reached the September 1914 turn without crashes or lockups and all combats resolved correctly. Unfortunately for some reason the Togoland garrison invaded the Falkland Islands despite of a custom turn rule that's supposed to lock them in place until July 1916. I hate it when that happens.

It is minor issue but the picture in Ottoman 4th army in the 1914 scenario set up is Hakeem Noor-ud-Din and he is Indian theologian,writer. But it should be Nureddin Pasha commanding 4th division in Baghdad garrison. Hakeem Noor-ud-Din is also in later setups ex :1916 scenario in Trabzon commanding 2nd army against Yudenic.

note: No crash also for me. :D

I didn't start a new CG. I'll try and replicate the crash after starting a new CG.

For me too, and it was a new CG.

Hopefully good news. I worked out a key refactoring of the WW1 audio engine and finally catched (and fixed) the crash on 'next battle' button.
The fix has been thoroughly tested by me and poweraxe, whose PC was the most "responding" (before the fix he was getting crashes in 100% of cases, now zero).

Herewith a short summary of changes:
- Added memory lock checks in game audio engine to avoid crashes caused by memory access concurrency conflicts
- Fixed crash in battle logs window

The new revision of Beta Patch 1.08Q is now online, download links are unchanged, as usual. You can find everything in top post.

Ouch! Do you have the correct picture? :)

Perhaps AI did some trick detaching the unit into a non-locked stack. But also such operations should be forbidden, so it is for human players... :wacko:

Looks very promising. No crash after 2 turns, with sounds on. The game runs smoother than ever!

Calvinus yes :D

He was under command in Battle of Ctesiphon against Townshend. Mostly likely Halil pasha was also in command.
And thanks for the new patch. Game was already stable for me I hope it is for everyone.

Played through Nov-Dec '14 without any problems, so I think the patch could be made official.

There were German strikes though already, which seems too early considering the success on battlefields and lack of war weariness. The event needs some adjusting, it seems.

Very odd! If you are an expert modder, have you checked the Strike events scripts?
The chances should be zero, provided the die roll modifier is very negative...
Or haven't you started a new campaign? The script fixes are loaded only for new games after patch installation.

Side note: I've corrected the picture of Nureddin Pasha. So when the 1.08Q will be official, you'll find also this new fix.

Don't know about the scripts. It is a new campaign.

Ok I will double-check the Strikes events scripts asap.

Edit:

all Strikes events have the following modifiers:

; Modifiers
BeginModifier
Type=EM_CheckYear
Modifier=-4
Parameters=-1,1916
EndModifier
BeginModifier
Type=EM_CheckYear
Modifier=1
Parameters=1,1917
EndModifier

That means -4 during or before 1916, +1 during or after 1917. The die roll required for making the event occurs is 4 or more, so theoretically these events are impossible to happen before 1917...

As anticipated after the latest reported issues, a new revision of Beta Patch 1.08Q is now online, download links are unchanged, as usual. You can find everything in top post.

Herewith a short summary of latest changes:
- Corrected the picture of Turkish general Nureddin Pasha, commander of the 4th army in 1914
- Fixed bug in events loading procedure that made uneffective all die roll modifiers for event checks
