AI vs AI Battle freeze

I am using the latest beta patch, which i think was meant to fix this, though I may have had a slightly different problem.

In strict Army by Army mode, and AI battle came up, and started getting screwy, first it took ages for the ai to send its units the front, then the unit it sent started 'flipping' with another (from a different army) and then on side got its front ready, but not the other. It didn't freeze as such, i could still click around and open the chat window, its just that the German AI seemed to go for a toilette break or something before it finished fighting AI russia.

This was in 4 player mode btw.
A logical solution if possible might be to have the option to resolve AI battles in the backround without going to the battle screen, and just popping up the results?

Otherwise, the improvement in speed over the last time a played (a while ago) is superb!

Hello again, I may have made a mistake - I had the same problem, but not in the battle screen, i think it is caused by the AVG auto-scan starting when I am running the game :(

Did you suffer a general slow down in game performances or a blocking freeze?
My AVG auto-scan is scheduled for 12:00 and every time I play at that hour I see the game slows down a lot, of course. :D

You should really remove/close all those things while playing... ;)

Well, the latest patch has generally made the game run quite smooth, definatley alot better then before, and probably as good as I can expect from my 4/5 year old pc :p

Though I only notice the massive slow down when something else (like AVG) starts running in the background. When it starts the scan, it slows it down to the point of freezing, hence my original post :( Playing it without it tonight seemed to make life much easier though!
