AI lockup in Military phase 1.05d

Wed Jan 07, 2009 7:59 pm

The AI lockup I've previously reported continues to occur in 1.05d in the Army-by-Army mode. Again during the initial Aug 1914 Entente activations.

Attached is the game save AFTER the AI froze. Let me know if there's anything else I can supply to help isolate what's causing this.

Just because I am lazy to open the saved game: is this a 4 players or 2 players GC?

I tried your savegame and the Entente finished all her activations without any problem...

What I can do is to reproduce the conditions from start of August... :bonk:

Well, now I tried from zero (early august 1914, warplans selection, no savegame) and everything worked perfectly...

So, are you sure you installed properly the patch? Check the version of the WW1.exe file, it should be 1.0.5.4 ;)

Hmm... that's odd. Okay it's the 2-player game, and I have the Army-by-Army box checked along with most of the other options under that option, except for "enemy reinfs before battle", "retreat before battle" and "advanced pursuit".

The game shows 1.05d on the title screen.

I've never reinstalled the game; I've just applied the patches.

Now, I too just reloaded the save and the AI started working and advanced to the end of its turn, enabling me (CP) to start my turn. Thing is, it WAS frozen after the Russian I Army activation, and I tried to do things that might unfreeze it but it was just stuck (not "thinking", just dead). I didn't try to reload the save b/c this has happened several times before (see my posts in this folder) and I figured it was the same thing again.

Don't know what is causing these hangups, but I'll get back to it and repost if it again stalls out.
