AI lock in 1.05c

Fri Dec 19, 2008 4:03 pm

In a new game under 1.05c, without ever saving the game previously (!), the AI locked up in the initial Events phase (Early August 1914). I saved the game at that point -- it's attached hereto -- and then tried to reload the game. Same thing, AI remained locked and the game was unable to proceed.

ETA: Game being played in Strict Turn Based/Army-by-Army mode.

We are going to post a patch update (French texts problems). You will find this bug fixed.

Sorry,
Calvinus.

Marquee or Calvinus -- is this lockup bug related to French language texts only, or is it a separate problem that will be fixed and then included in the update that fixes the French language tests? I am contemplating starting my first game using strictly turn based and army-by-army, but dont want to jump the gun if there is a problem and the fix will be here in a matter of hours.

Winfield, my issue occurs in an English language version so if that's what you have it may affect you too.

OK, thanks Marquee.

Sounds like Calvinus will be fixing two separate problems here -- your lockup, and some type of issue with French language dialogs.

I think I will wait until the updated patch is posted to embark on the strictly turned based, army by army campaign, since you are reporting a lockup with it at the beginning.

Yes, two separate problems.

The French texts problem was caused by MS Excel... :(
The turn-based problem was a regression bug, quickly fixed.

I also managed to find time to work on the air duels problem, as somebody reported that no air battles were occurring...

Tomorrow morning you will have the patch update.
