Russian AI needs a bit of help for redeployment...

Thu Dec 04, 2008 6:50 am

See the attached .sav and .map for a rather interesting Russian AI decision on redeployment at the end of the Nov-Dec 1914 interphase / start of Jan-Feb 1915. In it, near Lodz in Western Poland, the Russian AI stacks up 3 Army HQs and a large number of corps in an area 3-4 areas behind the German line in Poland. :tournepas The space is out of supply for the Russians to boot. What is even more odd is that the AI didn't put any Russian Armies actually, well, along the front in central Poland.

The other Russian units just to the south were cut off there earlier, and are now out of supply, but the ones I am wondering about are the ones the AI moved to an out of supply area way behind the German front lines? AI needs a little work on the redeployment front, it seems.

Otherwise game is playing fine through Nov-Dec 1914 interphase running patch 104e w/ the sound off and the AI logfile change.

Excellent suggestions. This is one of the first tasks I will work on, as soon I will finish the development of all new features and improvements (and bug fixing! :D ).
Thanks,
Calvinus.

PS: on my side I'm having instead big troubles with Russians in my personal game... they are knocking me in all sectors! :(

Great to hear. I think the only time in the game that the AI might have this kind of trouble is 1914, when it is quite possible for the CP and Russians to end up with a "discontinuous" front in the East that is all mixed up. In other years it is probably not a problem.

In my game the Russians succeeded in encircling my III and IV Austrian armies near the area of Lublin - Brest Litowsk. Also, I have my IX German army bogged on the front of Cestokowa, and the VIII army which is trying desperately to cover a very large portion of the front! XI German army, together with I Austrian is grabbing some little success near Cracow... This is my situation in September 1915! :bonk:

In the meanwhile, Serbia is 90% occupied, thanks also to the intervention of Greece! On my side, of course...
Rumania is 50% occupied, but I had to use 3 armies!!! V and VII Austrian (the VII army has been redeployed from the Italian front... yes, Italy is CP!) + the Bulgarian army...

On the Western front (Kronprintz plan)... trenches on the Alsace Lorraine and the Alps frontiers (where the Italians struggle againts VII, VIII and III French armies).

I can say the situation is very very balanced!
:D
