Was he really a tank and gas specialist ?? :w00t:
And he can be fired... Even Belgians can't do that I think :mdr:

Here are his specs from the boardgame rules set. I wonder if the retreat special rule is active in the computer game. The obstinacy value is a typo, and should be 1, not zero.

1 - Albert I, King of the Belgians
1914 : Belgian Army Special : Gas , tank
Name : Albert - Rank : A Stars : def *
Coordination 3 Breakthrough 2 Sacking 1 Obstinacy 0

- Retreat :He may make a retreat (or a movement) towards a friendly supply source through an enemy ZoC without the enemy intercpting him. This is possible even if Albert is besieged in Anvers [Antwerpen] (or in Liege).

- Military Cooperation : The Belgian Army cooperates automatically with its allies, starting from the turn of its entry into the war.

In fact, he was commander in chief of the Belgian Army but don't really fight or draw a plan...

During the war, due to the situation in the part of the country occupied by the Germans*, he gain a reputation of "roi chevalier" in order to impress...it was propaganda.

*the Germans have no idea of what to do with Belgium at first...in a second time, the german military governor decided to part Belgium between Flemish ["dutch" speaking] and Walloon [french speaking].
Some Flemish follow the German plan...other were fighting with the Belgian army on the front.
After the war, the "traitors" were severly punished and so were the flemish "nationalist"... etc...etc...[but it's probably better to discuss that in a more appropriate section of the forum].

[and excuse my poor english...]

In the game he doesn't have any special retreat ability AFAIK. He has the other, these are surprising ability for a king ... Did he ever saw tanks and gas ??
Anyway he should be un-firable.
