Russian "Stealth" fort in Olita region?

Mon Dec 08, 2008 12:44 am

The "Olita" region in Russia (right by Kovno) seems to have a glitch. If German units enter that location, they have to stop and siege a fort, but there is no fort shown on the map. The siege mechanic also doesn't seem to work there. I had some siege arty there and it wouldn't let me bombard the "phantom" fort.

Fwiw, in real life I think there was a fort at Olita, so I think it just needs to be a town with a fort. Hopefully that will clear things up.

We'll check that. I believe there is a 'bug' probably because the code is looking for a town (at least) to display the fort...no town, no display... could be done easily by editing the map and adding a small town here...

Phil is right. A fortress is there, but no town...

Ok, great. That would probably fix things up. By the way, that fortress line between Kovno and Grodno really slows the Germans down if they try to move south toward Brest-Litovsk. Very realistic, I believe. Overall the siege mechanic seems to be working quite well now.

Tannenberg scenario now corrected in 1.05: the "ghost" fortress of Olita is now in Suwalki.
