What's exactly your mod? New combat unit graphics?

Thanks! :)

No combat units for now, I have modded the map adjusting saturation, hue, contrast and luminosity and added hills and mountains symbols as needed, I could upload it in a few days. I am also working on the interface (windows, buttons, etc.).

I must compliment you on your color coordination and combination, it makes for a very smooth transition, yet somehow it is stark and pleasing to the eye.

I uploaded my map mod
JM_ww1_map_mod_10.zip 135 MB
please backup first your Ageod\World War One\Data\Graph\Map\Regions folder by copying it, then unzip my mod overwriting the original files in Regions (my mod not contains all the files and some original are needed).

Possible cause, that I have to investigate about:
the map is composed by 3003 areas, each area has two BMPs (one for spring time, one for winter time), so we should have 6006 BMP files inside the Data\Graph\Map\Regions folder and 3003 files inside the Data\Dictionary\Regions folder. If it's not so, hence the reason of the crash...

I'm pretty sure WW1 don't crash if some maps files miss or are corrupt, in these cases WW1 loads the generic MapTexture file (attached is my version, I forgot it and it is necessary to have the same look in the areas off the map).
To resolve the crash you could proceed so: first thing, rename the modded folder Regions and name Regions the backup folder (you have backupped it, I hope! :p apy: ), if now WW1 loads normally it is necessary investigate on the mod but if it still crashes uninstall WW1, reinstall it, apply the last patch and launch it before to install my mod.

Yes but i have no clue what the numbers mean. :bonk: The last time i know for what they stand was 25 years ago as i wrote a small basic program on my C64. And this was the only program i wrote in my life. After all it had the incredible size of 10 lines.

Numbers are the RGB colors indexes. Can be found on Wikipedia here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_colors

At the end of next week, the Italian distributor will decide when to release the Italian version. :)

I am thankful to JMass for creating this mod-I was hoping he would do this as his GI graphics mod was a great improvement to that game.

I installed this mod last night, but it did not "take". I installed it in the resources folder, but ended up with a new group of files. Should I just drag the new folders onto the old graph, data, map, resources folders? Where did I go wrong?

I've added a view of my directory to give a clear picture of the situation. The game runs fine as is normal (now :) ), but without the new graphics.
I would appreciate a tip before I screw up my game installation.

Thanks

I see the files are copied in the bad folder... Or that you unzipped the file not in the proper folder... in short words it looks a mess! :mdr:

OK Clavinus-thanks for the "tip" :D .

So, without further adue or guidance, I am going to drag the new folders into the old ones-after I re-backup the whole thing.

I was under the impression that it was only stuff in the regions folder that was changed or needed to be backed up.

The path where the regions BMP files is:

[game dir]\Data\Graph\Map\Regions

and not

[game dir]\Data\Graph\Map\Regions\Data\Graph\Map\Regions
(the portion in italic is redundant)

OK thanks. I just finished backing up and was about to start another adventure into neather neather land :)

The redundant part occured when I unzipped into the regions folder.

A new AAR would be perfect!

I'm evaluating the opportunity of posting a new beta-patch, because I have still no news from the Spanish guys.

So how about a new AAR with a new version? ;)

I'm considering it right now-but this is Super Bowl Sunday :)

A "Russian first"plan is rolling through my head-if only there were 26 hours in a day...
