Latest patch deauthorizes game

I loaded the 1.08K patch and the game is telling me "I am not aurthorized" to play it (invalid key); the key is the same one since I purchased the game long ago. Help.

Gold Edition has different key than vanilla game.

The 1.08K is a patch for the Gold Edition, and I understand you never bought the Gold Edition or the Gold Upgrade Kit.

So if you don't want to buy the Gold, simply download and install the free patch 1.07K, that works for the base version of WW1 and accepts your old serial key.

Thanks much. Can you please show me the link for purchasing the kit to upgrade to Gold? For some reason, I thought upgrading to Gold was free for those who bought the original game way back when.
