Playing La Grande Guerre with less than 2gb of ram

Fri Dec 19, 2008 3:22 am

Hi there, I have been reading some of the AARs of this game and they have sparked my interest... the only problem being I have a 3ghz CPU and only 1.25gig of ram in my PC, what Im asking is would La Grande Guerre 14-18 have any chance of working on my system?

Thanks :)

The Demo version (15 days trial) will come soon, so you will be able to test the game with less than 2GB RAM without paying for anything! ;)

You would be foolish to buy the game in its current format....in my judgement its not even a beta testing product at the momment. Save your cash until they get it right....at the current rate of progress this is likely to be in about two years!

This is Cavalryman's view. Lots of other, myself included are able to run the game fine and find it quite enjoyable :)

I have to say given the posts on the WW1 forum I would have to challenge the "lots".....there may be people who have run the game without issues but the two other people I know who have tried the game have now given up on it and are considering asking for their money back.....

Cavalryman and mine too.
I've bought several AGEOD and Matrix Games products, and I'm quite accustomed to first-release bugs, even serious ones, but the WWI case is really far beyond the acceptable limit.
Some of the reported bugs are almost unbelievable: submarine war with no output, multiple events played by AI, france surrenders without even a message, map colors, no manual, dwarves' topographic convention with east at the top....I'm just citing randomly and could go on forever.

Moreover, judging by the posts here, it looks like the patching process is getting out of control too.

I'm not going to start a crusade to have my money back, but I want to make it clear that I'm not going to buy another AGEOD product without first reading carefully the forums for a couple of weeks; this way, if the quality of the next game will be the same as this one, scratch one customer.
