Help I'm crashing

Hi everyone,

I purchased the game on release and experienced many problems but once I installed the patches most of the issues were resolved. The major problem is the game plays perfect until I reach the end of 1914 or early 1915 and it freezes when it's completing one of the phases eg. diplomatic or military. I have to ctrl, alt & delete to end the game. The task bar always state not responding.

I have a new powerful computer so it meets all the requirements.

Any ideas why it always seems to crash at the same time? This has happened the last 5 times I've played. :(

I've found it such a fantastic game but the wars over for me by 1914/15.

I am not an expert on computers so please keep it simple for me otherwise I'll go :bonk:

Regards
Adrian

p.s.

Ooops sorry new to the site may have posted in the wrong thread no idea how to move it.

Many thanks for your advice I tried playing the game without the sound and it didn't crash at the end of 1914 as per usual. :D

I'm well into 1915 but another major problem I keep getting a message box appearing ' the setup files are corrupted' and it crashes. :(

I have Vista could it be something to do with that? I've played many games including other ageod titles and never had this problem.

Any ideas why?

It's such a shame because I really enjoy this game but I'm close to giving up. I just can't play it with any confidence.Three hours wasted.

Hi,

I have 2 problems with posting you the error box:

I am unsure how to copy the message to show you (sorry but I told you I wasn't very good with computers)

The computer freezes and I'm unable to action anything until I click x on the message box which then disappears.

I can go through exactly what happens (twice so far):

In 1915 the game screen minimizes and reads 1024x (I forget the numbers) resolution and also a set up box appears asking what language to choose. If I press the 1024x bar it returns to the game and continues to play for another phase until it disappears being replaced by my home page and a vista standard message box that I have already told you about (no details on names of files etc).

If you can explain how to copy it I will try however it means I'll have to play the game again until it occurs which could take sometime.

It maybe a vista problem?

Regards
Adrian

It seems the Interceptions window. Yes, the game is frozen. Normal...
You have to perform a choice. So not a bug.

Mmmmmm.... remove the DVD from the DVD player! :D
The DVD autorun has started! :mdr:

For playing you do not need to have the DVD loaded... you have the serial key! ;)

You crash because you have ran again the game installer, while you was playing.... :D So the game files have been overwritten while playing... :w00t:
