Keep Chrashing - Vista

Mon Dec 22, 2008 8:53 pm

Bougth the game 3 days ago. Using the latest 1.05c patch.

Keep crashing.
I can play Serbia scenario, but crash sometimes in the Tanneberg scenario.
Tried a lot of difrent settings.
In my latest attempt I crashed in early august (using moltke as CP and a Italien DoW on Entente).
Then I tried again without mussic and did fine until Events of September. Hit "done" and crash.

Sometimes but not allways i get a message saying my graphigscard failed (5 times). Most of the time, i just crash with the message WW1 stopped working.
Is it my graphigs card thats the problem, and if so how can I make the game easier on it? Using a laptop with intel graphig card - unsure of memory, but its called "Mobile intel 945GM Express"...

Thx

Well, I hate integrated Intel graphics cards with a burning passion. Simply put, they are not made for gaming.

However, I think WW1 should simply not work at all, if it was at odds with your graphics card. Still, that is a possibility. I have a similar Inter card at my office computer, and well, I, urm, used to run excessive tests at its capability of running various gaming softwares. :D Final conclusion was: avoid these cards like fire.

One more thing: what I remember doing with my Vista in earlier versions of WW1, and this may have no effect whatsoever, was that I made sure the game's directory (and sub-directories) are NOT read-only. Also, right click on the startup icon of the game and choose "run as administrator" when you want to launch it, just to be on the safe side.
