Yes, 1st edition was already a wonderfull game, maybe the best Tolkien boardgame. It is to be play in a full day or a 2-afternoons weekend.
The small flaw was it's better to use it with 2 players than with 4, I don't know about the 2nd ed.

We have not yet played 4. We will be playing a 2v1 soon and this summer we will get to a couple 2v2 ill let you know how it goes. The warriors expansion really improved the already awesome 2nd edition.

a reprint is coming in the summer so I will wait when it drops to $25-30 than get it.

I have this game and it is very enjoyable and well done. It can easily be played solo with just a few self agreed upon house rules.

This can be played online as well. And it is cheaper. You only need to buy tabletop simulator on steam for $9 and you can play online against people all across the world. Its great.
