Hello,

For those who like card-driven strategy games and are interested in the first post-war period, I wish to submit this boardgame to their attention:

I'm the author of the game. Some play-testing of this beta version is done. Now I'm searching for a publisher.

Why not port it to PC?
And extend it to 1945?

It's a card-driven strategy game (like Twilight Struggle or Labyrinth published by GMT, for instance). So its gameplay is not well crafted for a PC Game, it's much more suited for a face-to-face play. ;)

It's not a wargame. It reproduces the geopolitical struggles that led to WW2, not more.

Thanks for answering.

GMT is just doing a PC port for Twilight struggle

Well, there was alot of geopolitical struggle in WW2.
Why not a political game that includes WW2? There were all those wartime conferences, and stubborn ... allies.

Great news! I think GMT did such a strategical move to capitalize the great success of TS, but I'm worried about the possible outcomes.
We're far from the time when Avalon Hill worked out Kingmaker, 1830 and History of the World for PC, but in my opinion PC is not the best platform for this kind of rather simple, fast and tense strategy games such as TS.

DuS reproduces conflicts using e very abstracted model. WW2 fans would surely ask for something deeper... :(

Democracy under Siege is currently being re-designed and partly reworked:

  • I improved considerably the game mapboard, that now has an more readable, innovative and better looking look & feel.
  • The strategy cards that are now less texts crowded and are supported by a better looking set of icons
  • I strongly redesigned the Military Resource production and employment system, by introducing a much simpler and streamlined mechanism, players are now supported by only one Power Card each per Ideology.
  • Game counters and markers have been standarized, the usage of wooden cube tokens is now improved.
  • Overall the Game Rules are going to be strongly simplified and streamlined.

Some details can be found in my web site
