I apologize. I must have missed that post not to react. Indeed it is.

uh... I thought "penultimate" meant "next to last".

I've tried using penbest, pengreatest, and penparamount, but people just look at me funny.

Or maybe, if you like checkers or Parcheesi or Go just a little bit more than chess, you might say, "Chess is the penacme of board games!"
(No, that's not a real word, I just made it up. But it sounds kinda cool, don't ya think?)

PS Who made up that stupid word "penultimate", anyway?! I think they were trying to snootily sneak something by us, myself. It sounds like it means the opposite of what it does, ya know?

Shredder engine was number 1 some years ago, right now computer chess is absolutely dominated by Rybka chess engine

Hey! Why doesn't someone (besides me) start a social group for chess? That way, the thread won't "sink" if nobody posts for awhile.
