A friend of a friend had posted this. If you want to learn something about Verdun you'll love it. Not to mention it will get you excited to play some War War I.

Good find. There was also a German(-French?) documentary about Verdun following the
crew at Ft Vaux and a couple French and German soldiers (pro and anti war on both sides) based on their correspondence in a number of acted out scenes.

The brutality and inhumanity of war stood in great contrast to what I had heard and read about as a youth.

I forgot to mention how sad these documentaries are to watch. The human carnage is unimaginable. I have relatives that fought on both the east and west front in WWI. I'll never be able to image what they and the young men/women went through during those horrible years of war.

Here's another one to watch:

** be warned, don't watch if you have a weak stomach.

** were lucky for most of us our only experience with war will be on the electronic battlefield. But, we should keep a place in our heart for the men/women that weren't so lucky.
