Windows 8 compatibility issue?

Sun Feb 16, 2014 2:09 pm

Hello guys.

I have recently purchased a new laptop, and "new" means a laptop with Windows 8.
I tried to install and played WW1 gold, however evrytime i tried to open the game, my laptop instantly crashed and reboot.

So i think it may be a compatibility issue, but even if i try in compatibility mode, it fails in the same way.

What can i do?

Try to disable the Play Intro video option (configure game tool). Hope it helps...

Are you running the game as PC Administrator? UAC is disabled?
I run WW1 under Win8 with no problems using such user config.

I run the game as administrator and UAC is disabeled. No change. I tired to do something with compatibility option, it only worseen the situation.

I have noticed that the configuration tool semms to have no influence on the game : I have always the intro video, even if i have not tick the "play intro video" option.

One more thing : my loading screen is made only from text, the picture with it doesn't appear, but the intro video plays well.
