I'm suprised to see fighter plane squadron in August 1914. Recon I understand but fighters?...also someone needs to mod the picture as it doesn't look like a 1914 aircraft more like a 1916 onwards.
How do you send your Zepplins to the UK....when I moved them it would only do land movement and showed a pic of infantry rather than a zepplin.
Finally any chance the game could be a bit more forgiving in unit placement....its a right pain trying to drop the infantry counters whilst in the battle screen.

It means you (or the AI) successfully managed to adopt some Air tech in 1914, so increasing the dogfight/protection value of the aircrafts. It's very rare but it can happen.

No need to do it manually. Just select the Strategic Bombing mission (when air techs will allow you) and the target will be determined automatically.

Wait first the AI deploys her units on the battle screen. Then do your deployments. It's much better so.

Due to the limitations in technology, the figher units you have in 1914 are barely enough even for recon, let alone dogfighting. This will change by tech and there is no reason to froce micro-managing of having separate recon and fighter squadrons at the game's scale.
