Pre Order? Oh no, not another pre order. After the infestation of pre orders at Steam, Impulse, GamersGate, and Direct2Drive, I'm pre ordered out! ;)

EDIT: I just went to Battlefront.com and they are doing pre orders too! :bonk:

No, it's not directly related, as WW1 is developed outside of the old AGEOD structure, and Calvinus (the man in charge) is alone to do the task. ;)

Hello

I have some question about gold version excuse me for my poor english.

We are now at 2 weeks of the release of the gold version, can we have an idea of the price of the update ?

I bought the boxed version, how this work for update the game ?

It will be playable in french?

And can we expect the big manual in french ? and in paper I'm ready to pay for it (not to much ;) ).

thanks

The price is not set yet, it needs to be discussed with our distributors and partners. In all cases it will be less than $10.00 for the update kit. :)

The update kit version shall work on all versions of the previous game (boxed or downlad).
The full gold version shall be at the same price as the one in vigor for other AGEOD games.

There will be no specific manual, except for a few additions explaining the differences. Unfortunately, for lack of time and volunteers, there will be only the English manual (which you can print if you wish). :(

But the game will of course be playable in the existing French and English versions.

There will be a short Addition to the manual (kind of independant leaflet of à few xtra pages) that will show the changes of Gold version and what has been modified.

The large manual is still there

Hello Frank, unfortunately we had a lot of unpredictable additional tasks (both me and Philippe). So WW1 Gold release will suffer a delay, sorry.

On the other side, following some compliants on Matrix forum, we are trying to add as many new features and improvements as possible. ;)

In addition, something you must always remember is that release is dependent on planning (and goodwill) of publishers, and they usually never release games of similar subject/interest for the same community at the same time... ;)

So even if we had not been delayed, no one would take that game before end of March earliest, so it gives us a bit more time to add our improvements

See above post

I think AGEOD wants to bask is RoP profits for awile without forcing AGEOD fans to choose one over the other. Just a guess.

It's not far from the truth... but not quite... First and foremost we are giving ourselves a little more time to implement new features, and this will take 3-4 additional weeks to the original schedule... but the real issue is the publishers, who refuse to release two strategy games at the same time...their profits are also affected ;)

I understand, your WWI game is the BEST EVER!!! I remember talking to you on the phone in 1999, when I bought the board game.

But to have this masterpiece as a computer game is EXCELLENT!!!

Very much looking forward to GOLD! :) :coeurs: :D :D
