Why the slow download times ?? It just took me 5 minutes to download the 3.51 MB manual file.

Might depend from where you are downloading, it took me a few seconds only. :cwboy:

I'm downloading from the first post of the thread above. Something is wrong with it.

I suspect something is wrong with the trans-Atlantic connections; no Europeans have reported problems with any downloads, while some North Americans have.

I actually meant where your computer is located. The server itself is fast but the way to it through the internet might have to pass some bottleneck. From Germany the connection is perfect.

I will upload it to an alternate location.

Primasprit:

Tried to download from your new source but it took so long that the link expired at about 75%. Never had a problem directly from the AGEOD site before.

Tried the AGEOD source again and it quits before it completes. The resulting file is then corrupt ??

I'll try again later.

The first few times I d/led it, it was slow, and the end result was it would not unzip. I tried much later, and the d/l speed was faster, and it came through fine.

I just downloaded the manual-it took approx 1 second. I live in the western USA. It unzipped fine-162 pages (3.51 MB 4.02 unzipped).

Perhaps the time of day is a factor in any bottleneck.

No problem - my fault, I should've used the quotes as here. Hope you've now got the manual - it was worth waiting for.

In 20.2 (R&D) it is written:"Beginning in October 1914, each side automatically carries out some research..."

Italy discovered light machinegun in September 1914 in one of my game (I actually launched the R&D on August )

Is it a special rule for Italy (ha, ha Calvinus :D ), a bug, a mistake on the manual or anything else? :)

I think the manual is to be corrected, because the first Events phase is in September, so that the first technological researchs tests are done in that moment, so in September 1914, not in October. ;)

A bit confused am I. The surrender of France and Germany's agricultural needs

22.2.3 If France is beaten and sues for peace, Germany's agricultural
shortage ends completely.

25.3 .......1 points for her “agricultural shortage.

Bravo PhilThib. The manual looks great. Are you still planning a printer friendly version, or should we try to print this one ??
