Supply

Can I seek clarification of the rules on supply. As I understand it, if a unit is out of supply, and isolated, then it could disappear. Is this automatic once a supply check has been carried out, or is there some form of test on the unit to determine if it should disappear or stay. If there is a test, what conditions are applied.

Units will disappear only if isolated... i.e. out of supply + encircled. If so, they will disappear on the second consecutive turn of isolation

Thanks, that's what I thought. I'll keep my eye on this because I'm not certain that this rule has been effected consistently in previous games.

But...,what if the isolated units are in a fortress, or friendly city.
Also, it appears that a merely out of supply unit will be returned with a hit-what about the surrounded units?
Questions, questions.

Cities in cities gain 1 survival turn xtra if the city is a home city. Also, fortresses are supply sources for 1 unit, even if isolated.

Hmm I had two garrison units go poof as a result of OOS-in fact they were the belgian garrison units.

Actually this was going to be my next question - I mean what happens to the OOS and surrounded units which are disappeared - do they return as 'wounded' at some point?
Clearly supply plays a crucial role in the game - I imagine that the manual, when completed, will cover this issue extensively.
