sorry, i started this thread before checking for previous reviews and it appears this is a sensitive topic out there. i feel its too bad that several people made such harsh reviews. however i know ageod has been really good at supporting their games so i am sure this one will be a "beauty" soon enough. i would like to try a demo first though....as i have limited funds.

The game has already improved an immense amount since release.

The devs mentioned that the demo will probably arrive next week, but don't take my word for it.

The harsh reviews were well merited - but so is your confidence in AGEOD's commitment to supporting their games. In this case, however, that commitment has been limited to a single developer whose efforts, though heroic, haven't been sufficient to get it into a playable state yet.

If I were in your shoes I think I'd be monitoring the the Tech Support board here before I committed my euros.

I don't care about theses reviews. This game as huge potential and there is not many WW I games out there (GoA is just too much ugly and UI unfriendly for me too consider buying it) so I am sure with the appropriate corrections GG 14-18 will be a classic.

And maybe you should monitor the general discussion and "help WW1" area to see that the game is actually quite playable ;)

Guess it all comes down to what you mean by playable. When the mere completion of a campaign game is worthy of note it might appear to some that playability is way, way down. Me, I figure that if I cant get past the combat phase of August 1914 because of a bug with Counterattacks I'm not really experiencing a "playable" game.

yes, yes
