Questions, after starting first Campaign..

Wed Dec 17, 2008 5:04 pm

I finally felt like trying the main campaign as CP. I somehow missed the planing stage in early August. How did I miss it? I was never given a message to click anywhere. It gave me Schlieffen anway and I moved on to the events stage.
As CP do I pick the Plan for AH as well as Germany? Same question for events.
I noticed they were given the Conrad plan by the AI I guess.
Are the events on the left drawn randomly for me?
I was given 4 as the number I could keep. Is this also randum?
There were 16 on the left. What happens with the twelve I didn't keep?
First reinforcement phase. Two corps were placed in Prussia that had a XII on them meaning they can only be attached to twelth army. I have no XII Army. Why is this and do I just fight with them independently? Can they join in battle with VIII Army?
Sorry for all these. I can see where having played the board agme would be a great advantage.

As the CP player, you select the war plans for both A-H and Ger. Additionally you also choose some bonus options which are also available on the war plans screen.

Default plans for the CP are the Schlieffen and the Conrad as you have discovered.

The events are drawn randomly for both you and the AI. The number that you can keep is dependent upon which war plans you chose and which bonus options you chose. The events not selected by you and the AI are re-shuffled and re-distributed during the next events phase.

I am afraid that I can not help you here as I have only played the Entente. However, units that can not be attached to an army can be played as independents.

I shall give you some answers now. Most will be coming with the manual anyway (I am 90% done with it).

Yes. Choose the German plan + 1 or 2 options (Schlieffen is default), then click on an Austrian region, re-oppen Warplan window, and select for AH.
--> one of the improvements planned is to give access to AH Warplans directly from the window

Events drawn are for the whole Central Powers. What you are allowed to keep is the number on the right (for the whole CP). All the others are returned to the pool, they can be re-drawn later...

Yes. In the boardgame it was a special rule saying they are attached to VIIIth army till their 'original' armies show up later in October. It should work the same here...
