German fleet goes global

Germany went East resulting in a neutral UK. This incidentally have had some odd consequences as the German AI send the German High Seas Fleet to the South Atlantic based in German African colonies.
With the UK entering the war in late summer 1915 there doesn’t seem to be restrictions on the German fleet sorting into all sorts of fang-flung places. I was a bit surprised as I thought the Kaiser had to approve – perhaps the rule restriction it only applies to the North Sea? Once the German fleet is based in her far flung colonial empire there is no restriction on it’s use?
Not complaining mind you – the global spanning navel and colonial war is fun and I’m already planning to deploy the BEF in a great African campaign – take that Lettow-Vorbeck,!!!!!
Will depriving the German fleet of her overseas bases put a stop to its global spanning raiding campaign on the high seas and force it back to Europe?
Would deploying the German fleet across the globe for a colonial war be a viable multi-player strategy?

I do not believe the Kaiser would have allowed this, or at least as long as the position of Great Britain was not "clear" in German eyes... he would not have left his 'toy' go at the other side of the world like this...
Maybe the battlecruisers squadron.....
In addition, there was no viable base for the High Seas Fleet overseas in 1914... I believe we should find some restrictions...linked to the owning of a major port at the very least ... my 2 cents

There's only one overseas base that is an easy grab: South Africa because if there were troops, these are usually sent to France.

I think it would have been a suicide mission for the HSF to separate itself from its main base. It would not have happened unless the war had developed much differently-like the total occupation of France.

I had a naval battle happen in the Bismarck sea (near Australia).
The british receive reinforcements after round 1.
The reinforcement was Jellicoe and the Home Fleet.
Bug or intended?

It all depends where the British Home Fleet was on the previous turn? what turn are you playing?
Fleet reinforcements on round #2 and later is possible with fleets in the same sea zone or in a port in a nearby region....
If the Home Fleet was in the UK as originally, then we have a bug...

Yes it was in Scapa Flow. That's why I thought it may be a bug.

Not a bug, but a WAD... currently all 2nd Fleet intervention checks are done looking detachments "in range" of 5 open sea zones, using the current row of
GameRules.xls DB:
MV0 5 1 Max open sea areas that can be crossed via naval move
I realised that this range is too long!!!
So I added a new row:
MVD 2 1 Maximum open seas that can be crossed for a 2nd Fleet Intervention during naval battles
Well, do you feel that 2 open seas is a good range?
If so, next official patch on monday...

One is more than enough, 2 is too big... at the time, Fleets needed huge amount of coal stockpile to operate, and even with this sorties were rarely more than 3-4 days.... In other words, to intervene, you must be located next to the sea of intervention.... much much better gameplay wise and historically wise
