Invalid Serial Key?

Hey, I bought this game on Remembrance Day on Gamer's Gate, I like it, even though It seems to freeze in the second month of gameplay, so I shelved it for a bit.

Just installed the patch and now the game won't run saying that my serial key is invalid.

What gives? I'd love to support indie game developers, but this is not the first time I've had troubles with cd keys like this. It is completely ridiculous that my game which I bought decided that I'm no longer allowed to play it.

You need to re-enter the serial number in the game configuration utility. Its in the program list folder along with the rest of the WW1 stuff. It should work fine.

Ah, thanks. Was this a common problem then? If so why wasn't there a readme with the patch? Atleast one that autoloaded with the installation.

My daughter has the perfect answer for the sort of question you asked in your last post; but I'm not sure I can get the right tone of voice in a print forum. Anyway here goes: "Whatever."

It was a problem with the first patch, and there was some added info after the question came up a few times. The next couple of patches installed w/o having to put the serial number in again. With patch g, it apparently is necessary to re-activate with the serial number-that fix got un-fixed.

:D I have an 18 year old daughter. She is going to college, working almost a full time job-and she still says "whatever"-whatever.

If I understood calvinus correctly, the file that contains the serial key had other content that needed to be updated by the patch, i.e. the file had to be overwritten to ensure the changes were made, which unfortunately also meant that the serial key needed re-entering. I'd be surprised if this were to happen again for future patches :)

I think this is why these new customers are upgrading the game directly from 1.0 to 1.04G... ;)
