I know I've heard about being able to move 1 HQ (max 6 corps and 1 arty) each year from one front to another.
BUT, what I don't know is...
1) What turn can I do this?
2) How do I do it using the UI?
HELP ... THANKS!

You can move as many HQs you want, during the Redeployment Phase of Jan-Feb 1915, 1916, 1917, 1918 and 1919.
I think

I think its at the Interphase - May, aug and nov-dec. I could be wrong. But anyway there is a thread below this one that helped me.

I hope I am correct. Ive been reading so many threads, manual rules and game highlights their begining to blend.

Yes... it's a sort of "teleport"!

Now I think I'm more confused.
'You can move as many as you want in Jan-Feb 1915, 16, 17, 18'?
And a teleport function in at the interphases in May, August, Nov-Dec?
Umm
HELP

Redeployment = teleport (but inside the same front).

Yeah, ok I will buy that. But how do I teleport a unit with the UI and when can I do it? And how often?

Strategic redeployment (teleport) is available every Jan-Feb turn.

So when I get to a Jan-Feb turn, I can just click on a HQ and move it anywhere? Please explain more about the UI how I actually do this?

Very simple: click on a stack and you see all areas allowed for redeployment highlighted in blinking yellow (same front, remember! no west-east nor east-west front redepl. is allowed! :cool

, so now you can drag & drop and... puff! the teleport is done!

Wonderful, so that explains the teleport which you can do unlimited times at the interphases only going from same front to same front. Correct me if I'm wrong but you do this in the 'Redeployment' phase? The same phase you get move in your reinforcements??
BUT, and here's the last piece to my puzzle, what about the ability to move ONE HQ (6 corps or less + 1 arty) from anywhere to anywhere??
1) when can this be done?
2) how do you do it using the current UI (please be specific if you can, it seems I'm somewhat mentally challenge with this game ATM)?
Whoever answers this will be my hero for the day!

Who spread this legend?????

Redeployment is for ALL HQs, unless scripted as "limited redeployment" (only generals, only some armies... modding!)

Again??? It's exactly like moving, but the action is executed as soon you drop the stack over the target area... puff!... teleport.

Can you undo or move it back if you make a mistake?
Also, you're saying the only way to move one HQ from one front to another is to rail it?
If you want to move one unit, say artillery form west from HQ to east from HQ you would do the following:
1) detach the artillery from the west front HQ to a detachment unit.
2) rail the artillery to the east front HQ
3) merge the artillery detachment into the east front HQ
This could be done in two turns?
Does this make sense or is there a better way???

You can teleport stacks as many times you want until you are in the redeployment phase, so if you change idea or do a mistake you are always allowed to redo/undo the action.
Your procedure for moving artilleries is the best one, but remember that "numbered" artilleries cannot be assigned to different armies, if the natural one is in play.

Yes, I did know that. But, thanks for reminding me.
