I seem to have the same problem - I am already supposed to get my second batch, but I don't know where they are or how to place them

I'll check this with Calvinus, but I believe they are currently automatically deployed off your shores, in still 'un-mined' coastal sea zones

None along the whole coast, neither in the colonies...

Any word on mines? BTW what are the real effects of mines? I've avoided them like the plague till now

When attempting a naval raid against enemy coastline cities, you can be "intercepted" by naval minefields in a range of 2 areas. In such a case you suffer something like a torpedo attack... at least the effects are similar!

Regarding the buying and placement of mines, v1.0.4c brought the improvement that I see the mines now in the list of reinforcements. However, when I try to place them they don't show up on the map

Yes, mines are to be deployed with drag & drop.
Do you mean the drop was successful (the mines aren't anymore on the reinforcements box) but the mines are not displayed on the map? I did several tests in the coastal sea zones of Baltic Sea... no problem.

Yepp, that's what I meant. Tried to drop them in the costal waters east and west of Schleswig-Holstein, they disapeared from the replacement list but did not show up in the water. Probably submerged stealth mines

Have you dropped them over an coastal sea zone that was already containing a naval minefield? If so, only one mine is showed (the former one). Otherwise, you probably dropped the minefield over the
same area where I did tests! So it's very strange I saw the minefield and you not

Are there any minefields present in the 2 player GC at start? In that case the FOW might fool me not showing my own minefields

.
Otherwise I don't know...

In fact the new minefields are to be placed in friendly coastal sea zone that currently do not contain other minefield.

Coastal zones they were.
Friendly I don't know, but as the british are not at war the german waters are not really contested.
Other minefields, there are none along all my coasts as i can't place them, except if they have been there from the beginning but I do not see them

Huh?!
I remember as GB having upgraded a friendly Mark 1 minefield into a Mark 2 minefield: By placing another Mark 1 mine into it...

Hoho,
just checked and it is indeed the FOW setting for the human player that prevented me to see the mines that were already present in the regions I made my test
Disabling the FOW for mines I now see those german minefields and can also place my mines in the empty regions. While testing that I noticed that I can also mine the North Sea and the Baltic Sea, not just coastal regions.

Haven't seen this one in the 'Fixed' list, so I just bump it - certainly not the most critical one and there is a workaround anyway.
PS: Some kind Moderator might drag this one over to the Troubleshouting section, as it is a bug
