What is this for in the configuration? Should I just set it to Low(fast) if I'm only play against AI? Help ??

It was used in the multi-threaded architecture of the game, before the refactoring of AI due to the HW incompatibility issues. So you can keep it to 3.

3 as in Slow(3)?

Yes, level 3 (slow) is that one you have to set.

What are exactly the differences between 1-2-3 ?
Is that now no more relevant ?
