Return drawn events 'unplayed'?!

As mentioned in another post I so far managed to keep the Brits neutral (October 1914).

Now I wonder what I shall do with the Blockade Runner event that I kept from the start - is there no way to return events unplayed?! I have the Blockade Runner from the start and the Arab Revolt and I think the Lawrence of Arabia from later event phases, so one with little use and two I just keep from the Entente. What can i do when I find an actually useful event in the next event phase?!

In the last event phase I wanted to take no event but was forced to take one (continue button inactive otherwise).

Okay, in this special case I could play the Blockade Runner as a 'blank' to free the slot but if I draw just Entente-favourable events in the next round I am back at step one...

Edit: Just now I notice that this is under assumption that I am limited to three events that I might keep 'in hand'. Not sure where I got this from, either from the first Event phase where I could take three out of 17 events and I 'extrapolated' that to the assumption of a general limitation to three events or whether I read it somewhere here or in the manual (just skimmed through the boardgame rules and did find nothing like that).
Is there actually such a limit?!

No limit IIRC ;) ... or may be 10 (if physical limit due to Interface display slots...Calvinus will confirm that)...but at least more than 3 for sure... ;)

Phisical display limit is 10. But don't be so sure Britons will never enter the war! :D
I played the Kronprinz warplan several times........... :siffle:

Pah, what's wrong with some self-imposed restrictions :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

Now, that shall postpone my problem a little while. But once I have 10 Entente-favorable events I will come back to you :neener: :p oke:

Thinking about it again, there might still be the potential for a deadlock. If someone enters a new Events phase with ten events 'in his hand' he can't keep another one, I assume (or it might cause an error because the 11th can't be displayed).
If in this case the continue button is not automatically activated and it is not possible to play an event while the event dialog is active you have a deadlock.

One option might be to put all events the player has in the 'Keep event' column and allow the player this way to return events without playing them. But this might be a change to the rules, which you probably not like that way.

Probably a little bit artificial until someone reaches this point in 1918 ;)

I think it's really difficult to see such a situation. But no problem, you keep the 11th event, you exit the window but you do not see it until you play one event...

By now (June 1915) I already have collected 9 events, but not so much because I wanted to test the limit, but because I am only allowed to play two (Arab revolt and Sixte of B....) in any phase and two battle related (Breaktrough and Surprise) in the respective situation. I am not allowed to play the others. Events that can't be played are of a wide range, Wassmuss, Entente decl. war on Belgium (how I loved to play that one...), Supplementary Munition (A-H would love that one, see Troubleshouting thread), Mutinities, Blockade Runners.

Just played a 'dummy' turn from June to July to check the other phases, but it really just those four playable events. In the events phase I got another three events - it seems the limit of events is just nine, as the new ones are not shown.

The additional ones will show as soon as you use some of the events that are showing.

But the problem is that the ones I might want to play are not active :(

I'd happily play Entente decl. war on Belgium, Supplementary Munition and maybe trigger some russian Mutinities or have Wassmuss raise an Army in Libya, but the game does not let me do so.
Only Sixte de Burbon... (which I actually already considered but I am currently not allowed to sent a peace offer...) and the Arab Revolt that I definatly don't want to play are active.

I think it would be nice if there's a way if you have the max of ten cards and have to pick two you get to pick which two to discard (either newly picked ones or ones from the hand).

On the other hand it's a nice thing if you sometimes have to play events even though relatively useless to free up space again - adds another layer of uneasy decision making, IMO.
