Diplomatics and a border violation

Hope I don't swamp the forum too much with my questions, but the current manual is sometimes a little thin...
I choosed the warplan not invading any neutral countries (Kronprinz) and by September 1914 the Brits are not yet at war. 'Accidently' I marched a Turkish Army into British territory:
I am surprised that I could actually do that without the rights of passage and also interesting is that I got no british reaction to it.
Shouldn't there be a mechanism to avoid such a border violation, or some kind of diplomatic penalty?!
And finally, would someone explain a little more the diplomatic window in general - I am not always sure how to read it
I didn't say finally, did I?!
There is one more thing, not a question, but a design request:
Not sure how much effort it might be, but could you please generally make a bigger difference between active and inactive buttons (e.g. like the blinking 'Go to next Battle') - just looking at the screenshot above, to me it is quite hard to tell the difference between the 'Declare War' button and the other two.
