Reinforcements

Sun Nov 16, 2008 5:55 pm

Hi I'm new to the game. One thing that really is confusing me is how to use the Reinforcement phase. What am I supposed to do with the reinforcements window? I can't drag the unit cards from it.

Tnx for the info

If you are in the phase and the box has units to deploy, click on the unit and drag it to a HQ. Or you can drag it to the map. IF the HQ in question isnt full, allied 7 corp/ger 8 corp, I believe, the unit will be absorbed, if full you cant do it.

If you are referring to the HQ symbols you see to the left when you open the reinforcement box, those are your active HQs. Frankly ive yet to get a "reinforcement" HQ unit, playing GC at June 1915 now. Some appear buildable however.

Maybe similar problem to me. I am in the reinforcement phase and cannot end the phase because there are 3 units that have a mandatory combat to do.

I find the units in the reinforcement box but cannot do anything with them. No drop or anything else.

Please help

Don't worry... very simple.

In WEGO mode the Reinforcements phase and Military phase are mixed. That's why you see the reinforcements box. So you can proceed to place your reinforcents (if any) and plan you moves (mandatory attacks included). Once finished, you will be able to commit the end-turn.

Hmm sorry, I am too stupid. :bonk:
I do every move I want but still cannot end the turn. Do I misted anything else. Where do the mandatory attacks take place. I look in every single province but I did not find a scheduled attach to do??

Why is there a box full of units when I could nothing do with them. I can open and close the box but not with the units inside?

Nothing to do with them??? You have to drag & drop them over the map (friendly areas).

For the mandatory attacks, browse the armies (HQs) of your nations using the Enter key. You will see red flags over for the mandatory attacks (tooltips will say where to do the attack, just in case a particular target is in force).

That means this turn you have no reinforcements to be placed. (Probably all reinforcements you received were "automatically deployed")...

When you will have reinforcing units to be placed, you will find them in that box! ;)

Check for armies and detachements with flags above, red means you have to attack with them , if green they are fine already. The tooltip for the unit tells you where you are supposed to attack.

One related observation from me that might be a bug:
Some of my A-H forces were flagged for a mondatory attack against Russia. I gave them a movement order and the flag changed to green.
Fine so far, but then I cancelled that movement order but the flag remained green - eventually I gave them new orders, so I don't know what would have happened if I had tried to end that move...

Thank you for your patience with me! I read the (bit poor) manual and played and won the small scenarios (East Prussia and c.u c. Army). But I am on the verge to dismiss at the big scenario.

That is the thing. I found already 3 units in the box with a red flag. I did not find a hint where to attack but will check the tooltip once again.

What I do not understand: I am in the reinforcement phase and I have a great number of reinforcements. The units with a red flag are hidden at the end of the box. These 3 units which are not on the map at the moment have a mandatory attack to do. Difficult to understand.

BtW I would wish a shortcut to circle through the active units that have to be moved. So I can't miss the goal.

I suspect we are generating a big misunderstanding...

Red flags are to be searched over the map, not on the reinforcement box.

Search the soldiers (or "counters" sprites, according to the display mode you are currently using...) whith a red flag over the helmet.

You can use the Enter key to browse your army HQs. It's very simple: select an army of Austria-Hungary and the Enter key will allow you to browse all the Army HQs of A-H. Do the same with Germany. You can do this also with enemy nations, provided you can browse only the visible HQs, according to Fog of War current settings, of course.

Thank you for your advice. I will proove this. It sounds that you are right. I only watched the reinforcement units and may missed the map units. But why are there red flagged units in the box with a mandatory attack. I read this I am sure.

These mandatory attacks are generated by the War-Plan you have selected... original boardgame rules. ;)
