Boardgame Rules

Hi All,

While we await for the large manual completion (a monstrous task), we will give you access to the orginal boardgame rules in English. When you see them, you shall understand why it takes so long to complete the large manual :mdr:

Anyway, Calvinus has developed the game mostly using those rules, and the computer version is almost 90% faithful to the orginal. So this will help...provided you have the courage to read till the end...

Thanks for your support

Why do you also design so complex boardgames. :D

Ha, très bonne initiative en attendant une version complète.
Est-il possible de les avoir en complément avec un autre format d'archives ? Mon ZipGenius v6 ne traite pas les .rar ;)

Use 7-zip. It is free and is able to unpack .zip and .rar formats

En grande partie oui, mais en pratique les tables DU JEU en version PC sont toutes dans les bases excel auxquelles vous avez accès dans le répertoire Modding du jeu :)

They are talking about that you can find copies of the gametables along with the game.

People better at speaking French than me should feel free to clarify further :D

Oops, sorry. I was saying that the game tables are based very closely on those of the boardgame. The actual tables are all in the form of excel files and in the Modding folder of the game's directory

Philippe, when you have some time can you please tell us the main differences between the board and pc game. So it is easier to read the boardgame rules.

Philippe, the rules refer to some country specifc game aids. Can you please put them online too? Or have they no relevance in the pc version?

Was La Grande Guerre 14-18 the most complex boardgame you designed? I find the rules of Europa Universalis much easier to read and understand. :)

I have been wondering, since this game is so closely tied to the original board game, why was the map changed from hex based to area based? One would think that you would want to keep the board the way it is represented in the game. I'm not arguing for hexes here just curious about the design decision....

I guess if I check each area I will find it is 6 sided huh?....If so, then I've been punk'd... :D

Goodaye,

I'd like to second the request for the country specific game aides - if they are available.

I'm almost done reading through the rules (phew!) and they constantly refer to the above.

Cheers,
Plugger

Damned, I could have stared at the map without ever noticing (maybe because it's too dark :D ?) :neener: :bonk: !

That's the most convoluted way of doing an (irregular) hex grid ever, so a great achievement ;) . Still thinking a standard hex-map would have worked as least as well ... :hat:
