multiple movement phases? oops i meant military phases

Thu Oct 01, 2009 8:37 am

i'm playing 1.06i strictly turned based, no army by army activation. i've noticed that sometimes the game gives several military phases.

in other words the game lets me move all my units, then lets me fight a few battles , then it lets me move all my units again, then fight some more battles. this can go on several times in one turn. im not talking about the breakthrough phase, its giving me a complete new military phase several times a turn. sometimes the game allows me to move all my units three or four times in a single turn. then it'll give me a normal breakthrough phase.

i'm currently in the 1914 movement doctrine if that has any bearing.

is this a bug or am i missing something?

Ouch! Are you sure this is not due to army reactions or Breakthrough sub-phase?

i have advanced pursuits unchecked, so its not due to a breakthrough sub phase.

i've noticed another, possibly related problem. sometimes certain units do not move at all in the military phase, even after successfully getting an order to move. after this happens it seems i get another military phase in which if i just click the execute orders arrow, just those units move. which would be fine, except that the game allows you to move every, or nearly every unit again. not just those that missed their turn for whatever reason.

hope this helps. if you need it i could post a save game.

note: this problem occurs in both 1.06h and 1.06i.

The move order fault occurs for several reasons: max allowed number of attacks sustainable by Central Powers, stacking limits exceeded, etc. etc.

Well sometimes Ive seen units that just don,t follow orders for no reason i can find. they're not attacking an enemy nor are they exceeding stacking limits.

it's certainly possible im missing something in that regard. but just because certain units fail to move for whatever reason, i don't see why im getting several military phases in which all my units can move. at least that part is a bug right?

I just asked the same questions in a different thread I didnt see you were asking about the same thing, like you I dont really know why units just dont move...
