One last question for today...wheww

Mon Jan 26, 2009 10:40 pm

"Merge Ambassadors". How and where do you use this. Can't find it mentioned in the manual. If its in there, my appologies.
Well, maybe one more, What does "no movement path" signify when sending an ambassador to a country. For example I get this when assigning one from Germany to Turkey, even when I have one already there that I had sent earlier. (not two)

This button allows you to merge ambassadors, forming up to a 3-valued DIP, no more. Let's say it's a very powerful "cheat". ;)
Do not hesitate in using it, mainly when you want to concentrate your efforts on a particulary important nation... :D

Calvinus, I've used the merge Amb for the purpose you mention in reply and it works well [I love cheating]. I think though the second part of this question is important. Like gbs, I too have had the situation where I am unable to send an Amb to a country where I have only had one previously and therefore where the catch all "no movement path/max number of Amb" does not apply.

I noticed it too last night. I will look for the cause later tonight.

This "cheat" was partially possible also in the boardgame, but I believe starting from the turn #2... ;)

Excellent - thanks. If this can be sorted it will make a great deal of difference to the Diplomacy phase

I believe it's easy to fix for the official patch, also because I guess the Spanish texts corrections will take some days. :neener:

Actually back to the issue of merging Amb. I don't see anything in the Manual on this, tho' I could have missed it quite easily. I certainly didn't realise that there was an upper limited on merges, ie 3.

Given the importance of Diplomacy from 1915 onwards, would it not be a good idea to add this to the Dip section in the revisions to the manual.
