Of course, all will no doubt agree it's a shame it wasn't available at release (and some will never stop reminding us of that fact :bonk .

But I want to go on record as saying that this is one of the most complete PC game manuals I've seen. The only other one's I can remember that have this level of detail in the manual are FoF and WitP. I'm sure there are others, but to be mentioned in the same breath as those manuals is saying a lot.

Fully agree. FoF is better to read but this is more complex. The best manual i had ever read was Balance of Power. Still reading it from time to time. The old SSI games had a good manual too.

No, there is already the small one. The large one is too big to fit inside the box. In addition, most boxes production has already been done.

But we shall offer a printable version of the large manual in next patch...

It seems some corrections / cuttings have not been "deployed" in the final version of the manual. We are double-checking the manual again.

Also, it would be hand to have a printed schedule of fixed reinforcements for all sides as well, so you know what you have coming before you build more.

Have you already look in the modding folder? There you find all relevant data for this game in exel format. This is the associated file for reinforcements which you can print out: [ATTACH]5847[/ATTACH]

I agree. There is in the boardgame rules an appendix which shows all of the event cards for the boardgame. Not sure if these are the same for the pc version, but they make for interesting reading.

I'm very unclear as to how events work - for example as Entente a couple of turns back I played the Arab Revolt event and Lawrence of Arabia. I was rather looking forward to playing him, but so far he hasn't made an appearance .

Is it possible to have a light but full manual, without historical paints or pictures, just the screens of the game, in order to print it with the lower possible ink cost, when the manual will be printable ?

We can give you the text files, but it will not be nicely formatted as the PDF one... and this one is done with the pics included (with Xpress software), i can't remove them

I think that many digital games are selled now with 2 manual versions, including a light version for printing. Exemple : Advanced Tactics world war II. I think that is important for Ageod to do this with the next games.

Adobe Acrobat is a commercial software to create and modify pdf files. Unfortunately it's not free.

In case of Advanced Tactics this is really necessary, as the "E-Book Version" has a coloured background on every page, a real ink-killer.
It's not too important for the WW1 manual imho, as there are not that much additional pictures in comparison to the overall print volume.

There are one picture in each bottom page, and a lot of pictures in many page. And the ink is very expensive in France.

A quick google shows up a couple of free web browser based pdf editors - PDF Hammer and PDFEscape. I have not tried them.

I think that openoffice 3.0 also has (or will have ?) some pdf editing functionalities, but I am not sure apy:

Can anyone tell me what the combat tables mentioned in the manual are? I've yet to completely figure out how combat works, and from reading the combat part of the manual several times, I'm suspecting that the combat tables are pretty important, yet I can't find them anywhere. Am I missing something or are the combat tables really missing from the manual?

Go into the modding folder. There you will find all tables for the game in excel format.

Thanks, that helps a lot. But shouldn't this be in the manual?

Also, I assume from looking at the table that a d12 is rolled. Is that correct?
