Naval Blockades and Air Warfare

Wed Nov 19, 2008 8:14 am

Hoping someone could help me with these two aspects, these are my questions (at the moment ;) )

1a) To set up a naval blockade of Germany do I only need to select the option "Naval Blockade" from the UK political options menu or do I need to also physically move Task Forces into sea zones?

1b) If I do need to move actual task forces where should I put them (ie do I need to control every sea zone and coastal zone west of Denmark or somthing?)

2) How do I set air missions?
Early in the game I attempted a recon mission. I clicked the appropriate mission button, selected an air unit and then tried to left-click, drag and drop. but when I dropped it over the German frontline unit I got a message saying something like "can't move unit there, it is outside friendly territory"........Yes, it was, but that was kinda the point.
Any idea what I am doing wrong??

Thanks all.

(1) & (2): Blockade is handled automatically, once you have selected the proper option (you may even receive it by historical event if you are lucky ;) ). No need to move fleets..

(3): Ask Calvinus, I have a doubt here and would not like to tell you something wrong or stupid... :D

You have simply to click on the recon button, nothing more. You are not required to select the target. The air squadron(s) will perform the recon in all areas within the reconnaissance range (use the Tab key to display the map filter for reconnaissance missions).

For reconnaissance its ok, but for tactical and strategic bombing, do we have to click on a target region or city? The manual is not clear about this.

Another question on blockade

At the start of British intervention you get a blockade announcement.

You also have a blockade option in your nations political options. Is there a turn length for the original announcement? Is there a turn length for the option? Because I notice that you can pick it again the very next turn, even if you get a positive result.

No, the target region is chosen automatically by the game engine (the richest/nearest one).

In principle, if you choose to "delay the blockade" with the event, you may choose later to enact the blockade via political action.
