Am I missing some perquisites? I’m in 1915 as the Entente and have failed to have any research available at all – it’s all grayed out.
Also how does one research new tactics? There doesn’t seem to be any research projects for it.

I thought the same, just click on the grayed out research buttons. They shouldn't be locked.

As I see it, tactics are acquired as experiences of grand offensives. No GO, no tactics.

Well you need to select a project, allocate money, and hit "Research" for it to be checked.

There is a limit to the number of projects you can have on going at the same time. ( I think it is 5). You should check the correct start time for the tech-this will show near the research button after you select the tech. If you choose something for 1916 in 1914, you will not get any progress (my experience so far).

You must allocate funds to pay for research. The slider is under the tech tables. So far, as the CP, it looks like you need to use 40 (EP?) to pay for a full amount of research-no money, no new toys.

BTW, research is a joint venture. Playing as the CP, I have Germany pay 75% of the required amount.
