How to check the diplomatic status of neutral countries?

Fri Dec 05, 2008 1:06 pm

Yes I’m a newbie, and - judging from the glacial speed I’m figuring this out not to bright - but I swear to god I can’t se the diplomatic leanings.

Read the rules posted from the coming “real” manual so now I actually understand what their leanings would mean but I just don’t see them anywhere.

Don't feel bad, there is a lot to this game, especially without manual (hopefully on the way soon). Right now, the only way to see a nation's diplomatic stance is to click on one of the nation's land areas. You should see the rating at the top of the screen beside the little graphic of a man. If you click on the picture of the man, it should bring up that nation's detailed diplomatic info, to include the levels at which it does various things.

One thing to check though: on the Fog of War selections, do you have "national values" unchecked? It needs to be unchecked to do the above, I think.

Also, the diplomacy chapter of the draft manual has been posted, which if you print out gives you a handy reference for what each nation's diplomatic levels mean, and the nation-specific modifiers.
